Financing Contract No. 101 was signed on 25.09.2024 for “Regional Project for the Development of Water and Wastewater Infrastructure in Maramures County”, between the Ministry of Investments and European Projects (as Managing Authority), SC VITAL SA (Beneficiary), and the Maramures Intercommunity Development Association.
The project is financed by the Sustainable Development Program 2021-2027, with a total budget of 2,366,777,403.51 RON (including VAT). The eligible value of the project is 1,988,904,818.15 RON (excluding VAT), and the financing is made through contributions from the European Regional Development Fund, the State Budget, local budgets, as well as the Beneficiary's contribution.
The implementation period of the project is 16 months from the date of signing the financing contract by the last party, to which, if applicable, the period of project activities carried out before the signing of the financing contract shall be added, per the eligibility rules for expenses.The project implementation period may be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, in accordance with the provisions of Article 10, within the maximum implementation period established in the Applicant’s Guide, if such a period has been provided, without exceeding December 31, 2029.The financing contract takes effect from the date it is signed by the last party until the Program’s closing date or the expiration of the period during which the project’s durability must be ensured, namely the project’s sustainability/durability, whichever occurs last.
The specific objectives are related to compliance with Directive (EU) 98/83/EC on the quality of water intended for human consumption, Directive (EU) 2020/2184 (recast) on drinking water, and Directive (EU) 91/271/EEC on wastewater treatment. The target group is the population of Maramures County, and the investments will be carried out in 30 ATUs in the county, including both Maramures County and other localities in the project area.
